PORTS across saudi Arabia moved 593,853 TEU in April, reports London's Port Technology, citing statistics from the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI).
Loaded exports made up 175,015 TEU while loaded imports came in at 199,889 TEU. Transshipment containers amounted to 218,949 TEU.
A total of 1,129 vessels docked at Saudi ports in April. MAWANI also reported cargo volumes of 20,467,760 tonnes for the month, up 24.28 per cent compared to the same period in 2021.
In other recent news, MAWANI announced plans to build two new warehousing complexes in partnership with LogiPoint at Jeddah Islamic Port.
This project represents the first phase in LogiPoint's ongoing infrastructure development plan worth SAR400 million (US$107 million) over the next two years.
