According to the data issued by Russia Ministry of Economic Development, in the first 11 months of 2010 Russia registered crude steel production up by 12.2%YoY to 61.1 million tonnes and an 11 percent growth in its
finished steel output to about 53 million tonnes.
According to the ministry’s preliminary data, in January to November 2010 Evraz Group subsidiary West Siberian Steel Works increased its finished steel output by 19.3% to 5.363 million tonnes while its subsidiary Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works saw a 1.4% growth in output to 3.338 million tonnes Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works raised its finished steel product output by 16% to 9.431 million tonnes, Severstal Cherepovets increased its finished output by 17.8% to 9.312 million tonnes, Novolipetsk Steel finished output rose by 12.4% to 8.063 million tonnes.
During the period in question, YoY decreases in their finished steel product outputs were registered by Mechel Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant down by 7.4% YoY to 2.736 million tonnes, Evraz Novokuznetsk Iron and Steel Plant down by 7.8%YoY to 1.305 million tonnes, Metalloinvest Oskol Elektrometallurgical Plant down by 6.2% YoY to 2.532 million tonnes and by Metalloinvest Ural Steel down by 12.4% YoY to 2.141 million tonnes.
In January to October, Russia rolled steel product exports amounted to 24.8 million tonnes up by 5.5%YoY while its imports reached 4.21 million tonnes up by 52.7%YoY.
