Russia will boost its coal output from 330 million tons last year to 430 million tons by 2030 to meet growing domestic and world demand, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.
“We are working out measures which will allow us to increase output by 100 million tons to 2030,” Putin said at a coal industry development meeting in Russia's Siberian coalfield.
The premier said he had approved a coal industry development plan for the period to 2030, which included 3.7 trillion rubles ($117 billion) in total financing, including 251.8 billion rubles from the federal budget.
