SEA-INTELLIGENCE Global Liner Performance report showed a 0.5 per cent improvement in schedule reliability month to month in July 2022, bringing overall reliability to 40.5 per cent, reports UK's Seatrade Maritime News.
Calculated from data across 34 trade lanes and over 60 carriers, the latest figure is the second time schedule reliability was up year on year since the start of the Covid crisis.
Further improvement was seen in the average delay for late vessel arrivals, falling 0.09 days month to month to below seven days. This time last year, delays were still rising, and so the latest data increased the year-on-year performance improvement established in June.
'The average delay for late vessel arrivals have been dropping sharply so far this year, tapering off a little in the past few months,' he said.
Of the top 14 carriers, 11 reported a year-on-year improvement in schedule reliability and seven of those saw double digit improvements.
Maersk retained its reliability crown with schedule reliability of 48 per cent, followed by Evergreen at 44.3 per cent, and CMA CGM the only other line over 40 per cent. At the bottom of the table, Zim had the lowest schedule reliability in July 2022 of 26.6 per cent.
