QATAR Airways Cargo and Qatar Development Bank (QDB) have joined to support local manufacturers, with the carrier that offers cut rates to manufacturers, who as clients of the bank have certificates of origin for their exports.
The products under this partnership cover all types of general goods that are manufactured within the State of Qatar, while dangerous goods are excluded from the agreement, reports the American Journal of Transportation.
'We are pleased to support local Qatari manufacturers and help extend the reach and availability of their products to international markets,' said Qatar Airways cargo chief Guillaume Halleux.
'We have a young and modern fleet of freighters, passenger freighters, mini freighters and belly-cargo planes to cater to their export requirements. Additionally, through our bespoke charter solutions, they also have the option of utilising part or full charter,' Mr Halleux said,
Said QDB export development chief Hamad Salem Mejegheer: 'This synergistic partnership will open up new global markets and wider horizons for Qatari products more than ever before. This will also help reduce export costs, and complement our ongoing efforts in supporting export development at the bank.'
The special discount is available to more than 350 Qatari exporting QDB clients, who wish to export their locally made products on Qatar Airways Cargo flights. Qatari exports are projected to grow noticeably over the coming years, as an increasing number of new SMEs are trained and developed to export their goods.
