THE Port of New York and New Jersey continues to maintain a strong supply chain as the end of the first quarter marks increasing numbers for harbour rail rising 1.5 per cent in March year on year to 59,771 containers, reports the American Journal of Transportation.
Total port volume for March was down 4.1 per cent year on year to 560,830 TEU. Imports were also down 4.1 per cent in March to 271,511 TEU while exports were up 5.2 per cent to 136,780 TEU.
Autos moved through the Port of NY & NJ totalled 42,188 in March, a decrease of 24.5 per cent when compared against March 2019.
