TAIWAN global freight transport specialist Dimerco has commenced phase two of its reorganisation to effect a quicker response, greater flexibility, and business resilience in the face of Covid-driven disruptive supply chains.
Dimerco initiated the change in 2019 and reports and already enjoys good results both in revenue and profitability, despite a difficult trading environment.
Phase two will see the creation of a flatter, less hierarchical structure, with a focus on managerial specialisation, team leadership and intelligent applications, said chief executive Jeffrey Shih.
Executive management board members, who headed up phase one reforms in air freight, ocean freight, and contract logistics, will now be better equipped to make strategic decisions based on the broader knowledge and shared experience.
In this, there will be supported by Dimerco's cloud networking technology, said the company press release.
Said Mr Shih: ' Dimerco believes integration of regional management teams from North America, Greater China, Southeast Asia, Europe and Northeast Asia into a Centralised Service Centre (CSC) will foster faster response and enable coordinated sales and marketing communication on a global basis.'
'Ultimately, the organisation restructure is aimed at enhancing our competitiveness in a challenging international logistics market, allowing us to provide a best-in-class logistics service with operational and management excellence and optimized customer service,' he said.
