THE oregon Port of Coos Bay has signed an agreement with Missouri-based NorthPoint Development to construct a US$1 billion multimodal container facility on the port's North Spit, reports Singapore's Splash 247
With the memorandum of understanding (MOU) in place, both aim to finalise a contract by the end of the year, with construction expected to be completed within five years.
The one million TEU facility will create 500 short-term construction jobs and 250 permanent jobs and will expand the port's throughput.
