HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), now a Cosco unit, is to take slots as charter partner with CMA CGM on their India-US east coast services, reports New York's Journal of Commerce.
oocl will contribute two vessels to the rebranded Indamex service that CMA CGM offered recently as a standalone operation after relinquishing its long-time consortium arrangement with Hapag-Lloyd.
The planned vessel deployment deal is expected to go live in the first quarter of 2025, say local industry sources.
'CMA CGM, OOCL and Cosco are partners on the Indamex after Hapag-Lloyd and ONE exited,' said the source.
The updated Indamex port rotation is Port Qasim, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston and Port Qasim.
Currently, Cosco and OOCL have combined slot space of 1,500 TEU per week for loading out of India (Nhava Sheva/Mundra) on the new Indamex, which features an 11 vessel itinerary under the longer voyage around the Cape of Good Hope in southern Africa.
