JAWAHARLA Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) in Mumbai has introduced new Standard Operating Procedures to improve the flow of operations at its empty container yards, reports Mumbai's Free Press Journal.
This includes mandatory online payments of handling charges and policies ensuring shipping lines handle financial transactions directly with the depots, minimising wait times, and optimising transport efficiency.
Dr Surendra Kumar Ahirwar, from India's Ministry of Commerce, recently visited JNPA, to highlight its commitment to resolving logistical issues and boosting trade efficiency.
