THE Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a new Asia to South America east coast weekly service, reports London's Port Technology International.
According to MSC, it will give extra coverage while also enhancing connection and frequency with Asia on this critical trade channel, in addition to our existing Ipanema and Santana services.
In particular, the new Carioca service will extend port coverage with the addition of Itapoa and Rio de Janeiro calls with better connections to Navegantes, Vitoria and the River Plate region via Rio de Janeiro.
Increase sailing frequency from Korea and China to South Brazil (Santos and Paranagua) will be brought about by the following rotation: Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro, Paranagua, Itapoa, Santos, Itaguai, Colombo, Singapore and back to Busan.
The inaugural sailing, msc Yokohama, will depart Busan on July 19. Recently, MSC introduced its new service, Britannia, which will provide increased port connections via a corridor from China to Vietnam to Liverpool.
