ALISON Cusack, principal lawyer at the melbourne maritime law firm Cusack & Co has created a digital comic book called Container Jack, reports Singapore's Splash 247.
The new publication dates back to 2021 to the famous grounding of the Ever Given containership, which blocked the Suez Canal for six days, thrusting shipping into the public conscience for a short time.
'I wanted a way to get the public excited about shipping again, in a fun and informative way, but also give something back to the industry I love so much, and thus Container Jack was born,' Ms Cusack said.
The comic book covers five common shipping issues, with explainer pages for each that give an overview of the incident type, as well as featuring a tribute to the Ever Given, a ship that created more maritime memes than any other.
'Container Jack is generalised enough and provides enough information that anybody can read and, hopefully, enjoy it, but I also structured it in a way where people who are in the industry will be able to spot those in-jokes we've scattered through it and have a laugh,' she said.
