MALAYSIA's busiest transshipment hub Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) has appointed mark Hardiman as its new chief executive officer, according to Singapore's Splash 247.
Mr Hardiman, a former CEO at Port of Salalah in Oman, takes over from Marco Neelsen, who steps down from the role after seven years at the helm.
'I am honoured to be part of PTP, an established regional transshipment hub with a long and successful track record in the industry,' said Mr Hardiman, whose career also included stints at Bahrain's Khalifa Bin Salman port and APM Terminals Dubai.
'I look forward to working with the board of directors and the team and am confident in our ability to achieve our growth plans and further cement our strong relations with our clients,' he added.
The port is currently ranked 15th among the world's top container ports, capable of handling 13 million TEU. It is 70 per cent owned by MMC Group and 30 per cent by APM Terminals.
Commenting on Mr Hardiman's appointment, Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, PTP chairman, said: 'Mark is a dynamic, values-driven business leader who has a diverse background of experiences and an excellent track record of delivery in the global port, maritime and logistics industry.'
