CARGO throughput at China's major coastal ports increased 1.08 per cent in November with foreign trade. growing 1.35 per cent while domestic volume increased 0.84 per cent, reported the UK's Seatrade Maritime News.
Export container volume increased 5.2 per cent while the domestic volume grew 3.2 per cent. Among which, the port of Dalian posted an increasing rate of 20.8 per cent. Export containers number also kept growing during the period till mid-November.Crude oil shipments at major coastal ports rose 7.9 per cent, especially the port of Yantai had achieved 73 per cent growth while the port of Dalian got 54 per cent growth year on year.
Metal ore shipments at major Chinese ports increased 9.9 per cent year on year, while port inventory grew 4.39 per cent.
In mid-November, the three major Yangtze river ports, Nanjing and Wuhan and Chongqing posted 11.3 per cent and 15.8 per cent growth for cargo throughput and container volume, respectively.
