KENYA Airways Cargo plan to start direct flights to key locations around the world, reports Netherlands' Fresh Plaza.
Kenya Airways has already started direct cargo flights from Mombasa to Sharjah International Airport in UAE and will increase frequencies and destinations as demand grows.
The introduction of this direct cargo flight schedule follows up joint discussions between Kenya, the Mombasa County Government and fresh produce stakeholders from the coastal region to enable them to transport cargo faster and more efficiently to customers outside of Kenya.
Kenya Airways CEO Allan Kilavuka assured the fresh produce community that the carrier will continue to invest in growing its cargo business.
Its cargo fleet has operated some 700 cargo-only flights in the past six months, carrying 10,000 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables.
