KALMAR, part of Cargotec, has won a contract to supply Immingham Container Terminal in the UK with four 'Gloria" reachstackers equipped with 'K-Motion" technology for Associated British Port (ABP).
ABP is modernising its fleet to meet the growing demand for short-sea container services at the port of Immingham in Lincolnshire, between Hull and Grimsby.
The four new DRG450-65S5X reachstackers are expected to provide cost saving. The equipment uses an embedded drive train system to raise efficiency and productivity by elevating uptime, ergonomics and safety, while cutting fuel burn.
The port currently handles 135,000 TEU annually and is anticipating 15 per cent growth in the next five years.
Said UK/ Ireland marketing chief Dave Pattersson: "The investments ABP is making at the terminal will help them to remain competitive in this market sector."
