KALMAR has officially launched sales of the kalmar Ottawa Electric Terminal Tractor (OT2 EV) at the Technology & Maintenance Council's 2025 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee, reports London's Port Technology International.
The OT2 EV is Kalmar Ottawa's third-generation electric terminal tractor, designed and manufactured in-house at its Ottawa, Kansas facility.
Four models are available-two tailored for container ports and terminals and two designed for distribution applications, including an on-road version for North America.
The OT2 EV has undergone extensive testing, including 240 hours of climate-controlled performance trials ranging from -22F to 122F.
Additionally, six months of extreme climate charging tests were conducted to ensure reliability and efficiency across varying conditions.
Equipped with CCS1 connectors, the OT2 EV supports charging solutions of up to 150 kilowatts (kW), enabling fast charging in under an hour and allowing for opportunity charging as needed.
