JAPAN AIRLINES (JAL) has completed CHAMP's API Gateway solution to allow customers to book end-to-end transport connecting seven major domestic airports with land routes across Japan, reports the American Journal of Transportation.
The service will also allow Japan to compete with other modes of transport, integrate air and land options, and will provide a novel end-to-end experience for JAL's customers.
The API Gateway solution was completed remotely by Luxembourg-based CHAMP in under eight weeks, from concept to going live on December 1.
'Instead of arranging land and air transportation separately, and manually comparing the different options, the power of CHAMP's APIs now allows us to connect and provide an easier and seamless end-to-end proposition to our valued customers. We are delighted with the smooth roll-out and business transformation, and with the excellent cooperation of CHAMP's delivery team,' said Japan Airlines Cargo vice president Yasunari Taniguchi.
'We are pleased to support JAL in this exciting project, allowing the airline's customers to book across an end-to-end transportation chain,' says CHAMP Cargosystems vice president Lee Booth. 'Our APIs are helping JAL to accelerate digitisation and create new business streams through these latest technologies,' said Mr Taniguchi.
