IWS strikes lease deal with Centrepoint Properties for Port Everglades site

CENTERPOINT Properties, the investment arm of the California teachers' pension fund, has announced a 10-year lease agreement with International Warehouse Services (IWS) at 3423 McIntosh Road, Hollywood, Florida.

The location made it ideal for IWS, as the 16.7-acre site is adjacent to Port Everglades, a major container seaport in a high growth and consumer-rich population of long-term seasonal snow-bird residents, augmented with an inflow of resident pensioners.



The new IWS facility has direct access to the 43-acre intermodal container transfer facility, operated by Florida East Coast Railway, less than a mile from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.



Additionally, the warehouse is located inside Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) No 25 at Port Everglades, allowing IWS to continue to realise improved cash flow and lower tariffs.
