GLOBAL logistics provider geodis has commenced operations at Schiphol's new 5500 square meter facility, according to a press release.
This facility will primarily cater to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, strengthening Geodis' presence in these industries.
Situated adjacent to their existing site, this expansion in Schiphol-Rijk is a strategic move to bolster Geodis' position in pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics.
The company already boasts a robust presence in contract logistics for these sectors at their Venlo site.
The new Schiphol-Rijk investment will concentrate on freight forwarding, aligning with Geodis' global cross-docking network for ambient and cold chain products.
Notably, the new facility has been awarded a TAPA-A rating for air freight security and holds the CEIV Pharma certification, attesting to its capability to handle products within the temperature ranges of 15-25 degrees Celsius and 2-8 degrees Celsius.
'Opening an additional specialised warehouse at Schiphol-Rijk enables us to offer customers a turnkey solution for pharma & healthcare logistics,' said Geodis managing director Mark van den Assem.
