FRENCH forwarding giant Geodis has appointed Yigit Saricinar as regional air freight director for the Asia Pacific region who will report to regional president Onno Boots.
Mr Saricinar previously served as sub-regional air freight director, and has 15 years' experience in the air freight industry.
During this time he has built a strong foundation for air freight in key ASEAN countries and will now expand his responsibilities to manage an ambitious air freight strategy within the regional as a whole.
Said Mr Boots: 'The head of air freight for APAC has a key role to play in the development of services in the region. We have ambitious goals. We will continue to be a valued growth partner to our customers, and assurance of delivering reliable and differentiated air freight solutions to our customers is crucial.'
Mr Boots said Mr Saricinar's role would be pivotal as the company expands scheduled services, such as AirDirect Mexico which connects Greater China to Mexico twice weekly.
Said Mr Saricinar: 'The air freight team in APAC is well positioned to not only navigate the continued turbulence of the air cargo market in 2021, but to also thrive in both these conditions and in the years to come.'
