MONTREAL's fire department has successfully contained a fire in a shipping container holding 15,000 kilograms of lithium batteries at the Port of Montreal, reports the Montreal Gazette.
The fire, which broke out on September 23, caused enough smoke to prompt officials to advise east end residents to stay indoors.
The confinement advisory was lifted by 10:30pm, and the city assured residents that the air quality posed no health risks.
