THE International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) has appointed Turgut Erkeskin as president.
Mr Erkeskin, who has been president and CEO of Istanbul's Genel Transport for 35 years was formerly the senior vice president of FIATA.
He was also the president of Turkish NGO International Transportation and Logistics Service Providers Association (UTIKAD) for over 10 years, until November 2021.
Mr Erkeskin was elected at the 2023 fiata Electoral General Meeting during the 2023 FIATA World Congress.
He takes the place of outgoing president Ivan Petrov, who is managing director of Trans Express in Bulgaria, reports London's Air Cargo News.
