EVERGREEN has ordered three more 24,000-TEU ships at China's Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, reports London's Loadstar.
Each ship is priced between US$160 million and $190 million, with delivery expected in 2025.
evergreen has 10 other 24,000-TEU ships on order at Hudong-Zhonghua and its affiliate, Jiangnan Shipyard, for delivery between 2022 and 2025.
Evergreen's 2021 revenue quadrupled in 2020 to $17.67 billion.
Transpacific volumes account for 60 per cent to 70 per cent of this, while Asia-Europe cargo contributed the remaining 30 per cent to 40 per cent.
Evergreen president Eric Hsieh declared shipping space remained tight and the company remained bullish about its 2022 performance.
'It won't be easy for freight rates to come down, so we're optimistic about this year,' said Mr Hsieh.
