EUROSEAS has announced a time charter contract for its 4,250-TEU intermediate containership, the Synergy Antwerp, reports London's Port Technology.
The contract is for a minimum of 11.5 months and can be extended up to 14 months at the charterer's discretion. It has a daily rate of US$26,500.
The charter commencing on April 2, follows the completion of planned drydock and special survey activities, along with retrofit installations of several energy-saving devices.
These enhancements are expected to boost the ship's efficiency in the commercial speed range by 25 per cent, resulting in an estimated annual reduction of 9,800 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
The vessel was equipped with various devices, including a new bulbous bow, lighter propeller, hub vortex-absorbing fins (HVAF), pre-shrouded vanes (PSV), silicone coating on underwater parts, LED lights, upgraded autopilot with advanced ecology control, and jacket pre-heater with auto control.
