EU sets June 2015 deadline to open single data entry window for ships
THE EU's single window, a directive to help simplify maritime port regulations, calls on ships entering EU ports to submit electronic data via one single entry effective from June 2015.
Within 12 months, EU member states will be required to set-up IT implementation but still making sure it is "simplified" and harmonised to current reporting procedures, said the European Transport Commissioner Siim Kallas.
"Once in place, the National Single Windows will serve as the single entry point for maritime formalities," Mr Kallas said, reported from American Shipper.
