E-SHIPPING, a new container shipping company from Turkey, has partnered with South Korean forwarder Farmko GLS to offer container shipping services to Russia, reports London's Loadstar.
The Korea Vladivostok Express (KVE) service connects South Korea and China with the Russian Far Eastern port of Vladivostok.
E-Shipping has chartered two 1,600 to 1,800 TEU ships and one 665 TEU for the KVE service.
The service began with the new 1,800-TEU A Kobe departing Busan, followed by the 1,600-TEU A Galaxy.
E-Shipping may add another ship to the service depending on customer response.
The report also notes that many newcomers have launched container shipping services from Asia and India after mainline operators withdrew their Russian services due to reputational risks and international sanctions.
According to Linerlytica's latest report, 98 ships of 104,278 TEU are active in the Russia Far East trade as of April 10, up from 88 ships of 91,548 TEU a month ago.
