GERMANY's duisburg Gateway Terminal (DGT), the largest inland terminal in Europe, officially commenced operations on September 16, reports Greece's Container News.
DGT, a joint venture between Hupac Group, HTS INTERMODL HRM, duisport - Duisburger Hafen AG and PSA, is the first 100 per cent climate-neutral inland facility.
Strategically located at the Port of Duisburg, DGT is powered by renewable energy and hydrogen technologies. The German terminal is expected to offer connections to major ports, including Antwerp and Rotterdam, while is scheduled to have 850,000 TEU capacity by 2025.
