DUBAI's SeaLead Shipping has inaugurated a three small ship loops from China ports to Hamburg, reports Netherlands Fresh Plaza.
This includes the arrival of the 2,200-TEU Manet at Hamburg's Burchardkai terminal, followed by the docking of the 2,500-TEU SL Tweety in early October and the scheduled arrival of the 2,500-TEU Snoopy' in early November, the company announced.
The departure frequency is then to be increased to a total of two monthly arrivals and departures for Hamburg, said the report.
Following the successful first call of the Goofy, by early November three more Feedermax-class vessels will arrive in Hamburg.
The service currently calls at Ningbo, Shanghai, Nansha, Qingdao and Busan. In Hamburg, the service serves HHLA Container Terminals Burchardkai (CTB), HHLA Container Terminal Tollerort (CTT) and HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA).
Commercially, the service is operated by NVOCC Volta Container Line, with clearing and marketing handled by Germany-based liner agent Peter W Lampke Ltd & Co.
High demand for transportation from the Far East PWL Managing Director, Andree Brinkmann, sees good prospects for further sailings from the Far East towards Europe.
The volume of imports destined for Hamburg is already rising to 1,200 and eventually 1,800 TEU as a result of the next three arrivals, he said. The bookings are a good signal, he said, adding that the market and also major carriers have gained confidence.
