Various studies were carried out on the drilling ship, which reached Mersin's Taşucu Port on May 19 after departing from Okpo Port in South Korea, and whose name was announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as "Abdülhamid Han", to participate in Turkey's hydrocarbon exploration efforts. Maintenance, development and updating works were carried out on the Abdülhamid Han drilling ship, which remained in Mersin's Taşucu Port for 2.5 months.

Abdülhamid Han, who will serve as the "strongest" of the fleet in "Blue Vatan" with its technical equipment and physical features, has the distinction of being Turkey's fourth drilling ship after Fatih, Kanuni and Yavuz and the fifth largest ship in the world.

The ship, which has the seventh generation technology, has a length of 238 meters and a width of 42 meters. The ship, which has an active positioning system with double towers, has a crew capacity of 200, and is capable of drilling up to 12,200 meters, will be sent off from Taşucu Port to its first duty station with a ceremony to be held on August 9, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, after the final preparations are completed. .
