DACHAN Bay Terminals welcomed a new service providing a direct and quick connection between South China and the Middle East.
Operated by ESL, Global Feeder Shipping, KMTC, and TS Lines, the service code is SMX/SMX/AIM3/SMX respectively.
In addition, the existing GLX/GALEX/AIM service operated by ESL, Global Feeder Shipping and KMTC respectively has been enhanced with Ocean Network Express (ONE) joining as an operator with service code GLX.
'The two services enhance further the Middle East service network available at dachan Bay Terminals by offering shorter transit times, expanding the coverage in the Middle East, and increasing the frequency of services,' the company said in a statement.
DaChan Bay Terminals managing director Brian Yeung said: 'We are delighted that DaChan Bay Terminals is the port of choice for these Middle East services. The services provide more choices for exporters to tap into the emerging markets in the Middle East.'
Five vessels, each with a capacity of 3,000 - 4,400 TEU are deployed in the new service with a port rotation of DaChan Bay, Port Kelang, Jebel, Ali, Hamad, Nansha and returning DaChan Bay.
For the enhanced service, seven vessels, each of a capacity of 6,600 - 8,500 TEU are deployed on the route with a new port rotation of DaChan Bay, Port Kelang, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Bahrain, Busan, Qingdao, Xiamen and returning DaChan Bay.
