Costa Cruises is marking its 70th anniversary, and its Italian heritage, by updating the livery across all of its cruise ships. The new livery features a stylised Italian flag, as well as the name of the ship, which will be painted on the bow in a specially designed font. Costa Mediterranean was the first ship to be painted with the new livery, during consecutive port calls in Marseille, France and Savona, Italy as part of a Mediterranean cruise in early April. The remainder of the existing fleet will be repainted by the end of December, and newbuilds Costa Venezia and Costa Smeralda will feature the new livery when they are delivered in March and October 2019 respectively.
