FRENCH shipping giant cma CGM has announced disruptions to its services due to ongoing political labour actions affecting all Finnish ports, reports London's Port Technology.
According to the shipping firm, the strike began on March 11 and has been extended until midnight on April 7.
In response, CMA CGM has adjusted its shipping rotations to avoid Finnish ports. Vessels now divert to Tallinn, Estonia, for unloading import cargo destined for Finland.
Given this force majeure situation, CMA CGM customers have the option to either complete their shipments through Tallinn, Estonia, or waiting for the strike to end and have their cargo delivered directly to its final destination in Finland.
