SEKO Logistics and Feelunique, Europe's leading online beauty retailer, is opening a distribution hub in Hong Kong this month to meet customer demand in mainland China.
London-based Feelunique has enjoyed exponential increases in sales since it launched its Chinese website three years ago and China now accounts for 20 per cent of revenue.
'The rise of China's middle class and its appetite for luxury and niche beauty brands is setting China on a course to become the biggest beauty market in the world,' said Feelunique CEO Joel Palix.
'By localising distribution, we will be able to lower shipping costs and compete on a different scale in this market by making Feelunique accessible to a much larger potential customer base in China,' Mr Palix said.
Founded in 2005, London-based Feelunique has a choice of more than 32,000 products and 500 brands across makeup, skincare, hair care, fragrance and electricals.
Tony Barnes, chief operating officer Asia of Chicago's Seko Logistics, said: 'Feelunique is a forward-thinking retailer that has already begun to establish itself with Chinese consumers. We look forward to working with them to take this to the next level and grow our businesses together in the region.'
