DHL Global Forwarding is now managing freight consolidation and distribution for Lindex, a Swedish fashion chain that has 490 stores across 18 markets and an e-commerce network that covers 30 countries.
Cargo must be shipped from 240 factories managed by 140 suppliers around the world to one of three regional distribution centres in Sweden, the Czech Republic and Saudi Arabia.
The support provided by DHL for Lindex' international supply chain focuses on purchase order management, consolidation services, supply chain visibility and management reporting. The logistics provider is also tasked with overseeing ocean, air and rail transport for full and less than container loads transported from Asia to Europe and the Middle East.
'Thanks to DHL's experience, know-how and excellent customer service, we have been able to maintain our position in the market through enhanced visibility, continued supply chain development and seamless operations at origin and destination,' said Lindex transport chief Maria Fransson.
'Working with DHL again provides us with a high degree of a more reliable supply chain. Due to this optimisation we achieve cost savings and are able to focus attention on other areas of our network for improvement, such as growing the digital side of the business,' she said.
