LUXEMBOURG's air cargo software firm CHAMP Cargosystems has named Chris McDermott as its new chief executive from October 1, reports London's Air Cargo News.
Mr McDermott will join the company from its parent information technology provider, Geneva-based SITA where he is currently vice president of passenger solutions.
Mr McDermott succeeds Arnaud Lambert, the current chief executive of CHAMP Cargosystems, who will leave the company at the end of this month after having served there for 16 years.
CHAMP Cargosystems, which has 500 employees and revenues of US$55 million, is a joint venture between SITA (51%) and Cargolux (49%).
Barbara Dalibard, chief executive of SITA and chairman of the board at CHAMP, commented: 'We are very happy to have a strong leader like McDermott join as he brings a diverse industry background with a specialisation in passenger airlines, telecommunications and managing global operations.'
