CANADA's opposition parties called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's to be tougher on China by banning Huawei's 5G technology from being used in the country, reports Reuters.
The opposition parties passed a non-binding motion by the conservatives calling China a threat to Canadian interests and values. They urged the government to create a plan to combat China's growing foreign operations in Canada.
'We call on the Liberal government to finally grow a spine and make a decision on Huawei's involvement in Canada's 5G network,' said Conservative leader Erin O'Toole.
Prime Minister Trudeau and his allies have put a hold on the decision, even though the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand have taken steps to ban Huawei.
