FRENCH forwarding giant BolloreTransport & Logistics has processed 10,575 tonnes, or 940 TEU of mangoes through the air and ocean, reports Ecofin Agency.
Bollore is a partner of the industry and its logistics platforms are located in the Ivory Coast (Bouake, Ferke and Korhogo), Burkina Faso (Bobo-Dioulasso) and Mali (Sikasso and Bamako).
The process and controls are carried out periodically to guarantee that the temperature is maintained throughout the transport.
The process begins once the mangoes arrive at the Port of Abidjan or at the airports of Abidjan or Ouagadougou. The refrigerated containers and pallets are stored, which are connected to power pending their shipment to Europe that's done through partnerships developed with airline companies and shipowners.
BolloreTransport & Logistics has executed an alternate transport plan to export mangoes products from the Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Mali to European markets due to the impacts of the pandemic.
The company has also established three flights that transported 90 tonnes of mangoes to Europe from the airports of Abidjan and Ouagadougou.
