PLANS for a ZAR285 million (US$15.3 million) container handling facility at the Port of Richards bay in Kwa-Zulu Natal have accelerated, aiming to boost the port's container handling capacity, reports Press Reader.
Significant investments are funnelled into the development, with Grindrod SA recently appointed to lead the project.
According to Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), the facility, slated to become operational in 2027, responds to long-standing industry demands for a container terminal in Richards Bay.
