THE Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway has seen 11,084 TEU throughout in the first six months of 2021, reports Azerbaijan State News Agency.
The figure is close to the number in 2020, which is 11,748 TEU.
Since the beginning of 2021, the BTK railway line has handled 369 TEU of imports, 397 TEU of exports, and 10,318 TEUs of transit freight.
The containerised goods consisted of non-ferrous metallurgy and chemical products, equipment, grain and grain products, textiles, animal feed, and construction materials.
Some 3,206 TEU was moved in the Kazakhstan-Turkey direction, while 552 TEU was delivered in the opposite direction. 2,915 TEU from China, 912 TEU from Turkmenistan, and 747 TEU from Uzbekistan were transported to Turkey via the BTK line.
