BAHRAIN's air cargo carrier Texel Air has invested EUR250,000 (US$259,180) in aircraft horse stalls in response to growing customer demand, reports London's Air Cargo News.
HAY Horse Stalls, from VRR in the Netherlands, are heavy-duty non-collapsible stalls allowing up to three horses to be transported per stall, said the Texil Air release.
George Chisholm, CEO of Chisholm Enterprises, the parent company of Texel Air, said: 'We recognise that carrying large animals, especially horses, requires extreme care. We found that horses travel best in certified stalls, so it was a no-brainer to invest in the VRR HAY Horse stalls.
'It's important for our clients who have chosen Texel Air to transport their livestock, that we offer the best capabilities and provide the utmost of care for both groom and animal. All deserve to have a safe and stress-free experience,' said Mr Chisholm.
HAY Horse Stalls are certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The stalls have the availability of kick-doors, ramp entrances, vibration-damping base, easy water and feeding access, as well as adjustable ventilation to reduce stress.
