A shortage of aviation fuel is causing issues in British Columbia, reports Toronto's Global New.
Avgas, the type of aviation fuel used in small piston engine-powered aircraft and helicopters, is currently in short supply.
This fuel powers aircraft that do not use jet fuel.
Canada's main Avgas refinery, located in Edmonton, has been closed for over two weeks, with no clear timeline for its full reopening.
Sky Helicopters in Pitt Meadows, which offers tours around southwest BC, has been sending staff across the border with large jerrycans to bring fuel back from the United States.
'We had a lot of weddings, elopements, proposals, and visitors from all over the world, we just didn't want to call and say, We're sorry, your wedding is canceled because we can't get our hands on fuel,' said Sky Helicopters president Kevin Pearce.
