Two U.S. Navy Ships Collide in the Caribbean: 2 Injured
During a refueling operation in the Caribbean, a U.S. Navy warship collided with a supply ship. Two sailors were reported to have sustained minor injuries in the incident.
According to information from military officials, the incident occurred while fuel was being transferred at sea between the destroyer USS Truxtun and the fast combat support ship USNS Supply. Following the collision, it was reported that there was limited damage to the vessels, and the two injured personnel were taken for treatment.
While the cause of the incident has not yet been clarified, an investigation has been initiated by the U.S. Navy. Refueling at sea, known in naval forces as 'replenishment at sea,' is considered one of the riskiest maritime operations, as it requires ships to sail in very close proximity to each other.
Initial findings suggest that the ships maintained their operational capabilities, and it is assessed that there was no significant disruption to operational activities.
