Turkish Lloyd exceeds 600 registered vessels, showcasing its growth, technical expertise, and commitment to quality in global shipping.
Turkish Lloyd's Classed Ship Count Exceeds 600: Strengthening Its Position in Global Shipping
Turkish Lloyd, one of the long-established classification organizations in the Turkish maritime sector, has achieved another significant success in line with its international growth strategy. The organization has increased the number of ships registered under its class to over 600, further enhancing its effectiveness and competitiveness in the global shipping industry. This development is considered one of the most concrete indicators of Turkish Lloyd's stable growth in the international market in recent years.
Continuing to expand its fleet with new class entries, Turkish Lloyd is gaining the trust of shipowners worldwide while also increasing its international operational scope year by year. Surpassing the threshold of 600 registered ships not only reflects the organization’s numerical growth but also highlights its technical competence, quality of inspections, and internationally recognized service standards.
Officials from Turkish Lloyd stated that the success achieved is a result of a growth strategy that has been implemented with determination for many years, emphasizing that the trust of the national and international maritime sector in the organization is increasing every day. The statement included, 'Surpassing the number of classed ships to 600 is a concrete result of our technical competence and sustainable growth policy. This success not only indicates a quantitative increase but also showcases Turkish Lloyd's reliable position in the international maritime community.'
Full Membership in 2023 (IACS)
In 2023, Turkish Lloyd strengthened its position among global classification organizations by becoming a full member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). By March 2026, the organization had increased its class fleet to 583 ships and raised the number of flag states it is authorized for to 21. With the recent new class entries, this number has been pushed above 600, marking a new milestone.
The continued growth of Turkish Lloyd, which plays a critical role in safety, quality, and technical compliance inspections in international maritime trade, also significantly contributes to Turkey's international visibility in the maritime sector. The organization aims to further increase its share in the global classification market by expanding its activities in new markets in the upcoming period.
