Turkey's Transport Minister Uraloğlu unveils projects for digital transformation in maritime safety and communication, enhancing real-time ship monitoring.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced new projects that will initiate a comprehensive digital transformation process in Turkey's maritime safety and communication infrastructure.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that with the 'Internet of Maritime' approach and NAVDAT systems, ship movements will be monitored in real-time at strategic maritime transit points, primarily in the Istanbul Strait. He emphasized that this will elevate maritime safety to a higher level.

According to the announcement, new NAVDAT stations to be established in Istanbul will provide ships with uninterrupted, secure, and high-speed communication opportunities. This infrastructure aims to enable more effective management of maritime traffic and accelerate communication and data sharing in emergencies.

Uraloğlu highlighted the goal of advancing Turkey's maritime communication network beyond global standards, stating, 'We will continue to resolutely implement our vision of digitalization in our blue homeland.'
