ÇOMÜ's Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering Department receives official authorization from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
The Department of Marine Transportation and Management Engineering at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) has been authorized in the field of maritime education after successfully completing the evaluation and inspection processes conducted by the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
As part of the authorization process, the department's educational infrastructure, laboratories, facilities, and simulators were evaluated within the framework of the STCW Convention and Code established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Following the successful completion of the inspections, the department has gained the authority to provide education in accordance with the relevant standards.
With this authorization, the ÇOMÜ Department of Marine Transportation and Management Engineering will continue its educational activities aimed at training its students in accordance with the professional knowledge and practical skills required by the maritime sector under the authorized program.
Thanks were extended to ÇOMÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ramazan Cüneyt Erenoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Technology Prof. Dr. Murat Yiğit, as well as the faculty members of the Department of Marine Transportation and Management Engineering, Dr. Instructor Member Özgür Tezcan, Dr. Instructor Member Erdem Kan, Dr. Instructor Member Ömer Arslan, Dr. Instructor Member Burhan Taşlı, and Research Assistant Serpil Cemre Kılınç for their contributions to the authorization process.
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University continues its efforts to contribute to the training of qualified human resources in the maritime field and to develop its educational infrastructure in line with international standards.
