The Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team remains undefeated in Ankara, winning all four matches in the 2026 FIVB Nations League.
The Turkish National Women's Volleyball Team won all 4 matches they played in the second stage of the 2026 FIVB Nations League (VNL).
In the event held in the capital city of Ankara, the crescent-starred team faced Belgium, France, Germany, and China.
In their first match, the national team defeated Belgium 3-0, and in the second match, they won against France with the same score. The team managed to come back from a 2-0 deficit in their third match against Germany, ultimately winning 3-2.
In the final match of the second week, Turkey defeated China 3-2, completing the Ankara stage with a perfect record of 4 wins out of 4, thus going through a week of hosting the VNL without any losses for the first time in history.
In the tournament, the crescent-starred team recorded 6 victories and 2 losses in 8 matches, placing them 6th at the end of the second week with a total of 15 points.
Outside hitter Melissa Vargas played a significant role in the national team's success by scoring 107 points during the Ankara stage.
Vargas recorded 17 points against Belgium, 22 against France, 32 against Germany, and 36 against China.
With the victories in Ankara, Turkey surpassed the USA in the FIVB world rankings, rising to 3rd place with 362.35 points.
In the world rankings, Italy is at the top with 466.32 points, while Brazil is in second place with 427.21 points.
The third and final stage of the VNL will be held from July 8 to 12 in Japan and China.
In the third stage, the national team will face Poland, the USA, Japan, and Thailand in Osaka, Japan.
