The Port of Gävle, a Swedish port operated by Yilport, has agreed a contract with CYES Maritime Works to double in size the largest container terminal on Sweden’s east coast. Gävle handled a record number of containers in 2017, and has experienced a positive development of containerized transports over the last 10 years. The expanded terminal, which will have a boosted capacity of 600,000 TEU, is expected to be operational by the end of 2019, allowing the Port of Gävle to meet increased levels of demand.
