Strong winds in the Marmara Sea have led to the suspension of City Lines services in Istanbul for safety reasons. Check affected routes.

The severe southwesterly winds and adverse weather conditions, which began to intensify in the Marmara Sea from the morning hours, have impacted maritime transportation in Istanbul. City Lines Inc. announced that many routes have been temporarily suspended until further notice in order to ensure the safety of life and property.

    Cancelled Services (February 18, 2026)

As of this moment, services cannot be operated on the following routes:

    Adalar - Beşiktaş

    Bostancı-Moda-Karaköy-Kabataş

    Maltepe-Büyükada-Heybeliada-Burgazada-Kınalıada

    Büyükada-Sedef Island

    Wind Speeds Reaching 70 Km/H

According to information obtained from the General Directorate of Meteorology, strong winds are expected to blow from the northwest across the Marmara region, with short-term storm conditions (40-70 km/h) in some areas. The increase in wave height has made maneuvering alongside the piers particularly risky, leading to the suspension of services.
