SINGAPORE's ST Engineering has opened a US$46 million maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Pensacola International Airport in Florida

SINGAPORE's ST Engineering has opened a US$46 million maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Pensacola International Airport in Florida. This is the company's third facility in the US as it already has two MRO sites in San Antonio, Texas and Mobile, Alabama.

'Pensacola serves as an excellent base for us to serve the MRO needs of the North America region given its rich pool of highly trained engineering and aviation talent,' said ST Engineering president Lim Serh Ghee.

The new 173,500 square foot hangar can simultaneously accommodate two of the largest Boeing 777 widebodies or six Airbus 321 narrowbody aircraft. The facility provides heavy and line maintenance services, as well as aircraft modification work. Its launch customer is United Parcel Service (UPS), London's Air Cargo News reported.

ST Aerospace has a total of seven airframe facilities located in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe.
